FIELDWORK is committed to ensuring that our mental health platform is accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive digital and physical environment where everyone can engage with our content, participate in our conversations, and feel represented in the healing journey.

Web Accessibility at FIELDWORK

As of June 1, 2025, FIELDWORK is actively working to improve the accessibility of our website and blog. Our design and development practices are aligned with our mission to make mental health stories and resources widely usable and inclusive.

Understanding Web Accessibility

Web accessibility ensures that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with online content. At FIELDWORK, we aim to design our digital platform to be compatible with assistive technologies, including screen readers, voice navigation, and keyboard access.

Accessibility Enhancements on Our Blog

FIELDWORK’s blog is built with accessibility in mind and aligns with WCAG 2.1 [or 2.2] standards at the [A/AA/AAA] level. We’ve implemented features to support a more inclusive experience, including:

  • Clear page structure with headings

  • Descriptive alt text for images

  • Recommended color contrast ratios

  • Avoidance of flashing/motion content

  • Keyboard-friendly navigation

  • Screen reader compatibility

Acknowledgment of Partial Compliance with Standards

While we strive for full accessibility, some embedded third-party content (such as podcast players or social feeds) may not yet meet the same standards. We acknowledge this and are actively working to address these limitations where possible.

Physical Accessibility Measures

FIELDWORK is primarily an online platform, but when we host in-person events or gatherings, we are committed to selecting ADA-compliant venues and offering accommodations as needed. These include:

  • Wheelchair-accessible entrances and restrooms

  • Reserved seating upon request

  • Support for assistive listening devices
